Think beyond the textbook and courses! Come explore chemistry differently.
Chemistry is the science of molecules, materials and transformations, and it connects almost everything from biology and medicine to energy, the environment and new materials. At NIUS Chemistry, we want you to experience chemistry not just as a collection of facts and equations, but as a way of thinking and investigating the material world around us.
The NIUS Chemistry Camp – Batch XXII will bring together motivated undergraduate students for an intensive 10-day experience at HBCSE, Mumbai. Through theoretical sessions, workshops and hands-on activities, you will get a chance to:
- explore exciting areas of chemistry beyond the usual undergraduate curriculum;
- read and discuss real research papers;
- investigate chemical concepts through guided inquiry;
- design and understand experiments rather than simply follow recipes;
- analyse experimental data and decide what the data actually tell you; and
- learn how chemists turn observations into meaningful conclusions.
The emphasis is on asking questions, designing investigations, thinking critically and figuring things out for yourself, exactly the way science actually works.
And it doesn’t end with the camp.
Following the camp, a smaller group of selected students will have the opportunity to join the NIUS nurture programme. Over the next 1.5 years, these students will work on long-term research projects under the guidance of mentors at HBCSE and other institutions across the country, during vacation periods.

NIUS Chemistry Camp – Batch XXII
Who can apply?
Second-year undergraduate students pursuing B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.), Integrated M.Sc. or BS-MS programmes, with chemistry as one of their subjects/papers.
Applicants should have:
- at least 60% marks or equivalent in both Class X and Class XII; and
- at least 70% marks or equivalent CGPA in their first year undergraduate programme.

Note: Only fully completed applications will be considered for screening. Providing incorrect information or manipulated documents will lead to disqualification.
The list of selected students will be published on the NIUS website on October 23, 2026.
Selected outstation students will be reimbursed for to-and-fro travel, up to the maximum of III AC train fare. Food and accommodation in the HBCSE Hostel will be provided to all participants during the camp.
